The biomedical sciences are without doubt a major strength of both the Australian scientific community and Monash University. Many experts predict that the twenty-first century will become the century of biological and medical science, in the way that the twentieth century has been the century of physical science and information science. In order to meet this new challenge, Monash University has decided to offer a new degree, the Bachelor of Biomedical Science.
