Each year the Faculty of Arts offers more postgraduate programs and subjects by distance education. The following programs are available in 1999:

Bioethics

Master of Bioethics
Graduate Diploma of Bioethics
Faculty Certificate in bioethics

The above programs can be undertaken entirely by distance education. Please refer to details under 'Human bioethics' in this handbook.

Civil ceremonies

Graduate Diploma of Arts (Civil Ceremonies)
Faculty Certificate in civil ceremonies

Both of the above programs are proposed to be offered by distance education as from 1999. For details refer to entry under 'Religion and theology' in this handbook.

Corporate environmental management

Graduate Certificate in corporate environmental management
Faculty Certificate in corporate environmental management

Both of the above programs are proposed to be offered by distance education as from 1999. For details refer to entry under 'Geography and environmental science' in this handbook.

Linguistics

Postgraduate Diploma of Arts (Applied Linguistics)
Master of Arts in applied linguistics
Faculty Certificate in applied linguistics (subject to approval)

The above coursework programs will be available in 'mixed mode' as from 1999; whilst the programs can be undertaken entirely by distance education, some subjects are available on Clayton campus. Please refer to the 'Linguistics' entry in this handbook; the subject listing at the back indicates in which mode each subject is offered.
