Local
and international students (AUSAID students excluded) are permitted to complete
up to one semester of an approved academic program overseas on an exchange or
study abroad basis. Students can enrol in intensive language programs or
subjects relevant to their degree/diploma specialisation.
Monash University and the Faculty of Arts have exchange agreements with many
overseas universities. If a student attends a university where an exchange
agreement is in place, no fees are charged at the host institution. The student
maintains his/her enrolment at Monash and pays HECS/full-fees. Where an
exchange agreement does not exist, the student will pay a tuition fee at the
host institution. For further advice, please contact Ms Sonia Chan from the
Monash Abroad Office (telephone: 9903 2605) or Liz Nolan, international
relations coordinator (telephone: 9905 2111).
The
university has allocated a budget for Monash Abroad to make a significant
contribution to each student's travel costs. To be eligible for a travel grant,
students must complete and lodge an application form for Monash Abroad
programs. Application forms are available from the graduate studies office.
Faculty approval will be granted to students who have completed at least one
semester of postgraduate studies with credit level grades or above and who have
not previously been granted credit.
Students should make an appointment to see Liz Nolan in the Faculty of Arts for
faculty approval prior to lodging the Monash Abroad form.
