This double degree offers students a flexible career option to study both
psychology and education. Students who complete this programme will acquire
skills, knowledge and professional expertise in psychology and both
primary and secondary teaching. In addition to the required psychology major,
students must undertake a second major in arts from history-politics,
Indonesian, sociology, mass communications or writing.
Applicants should have met the appropriate entry criteria for both the Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Humanities) and the Bachelor of Education. All applicants should be willing to undertake a normal workload of forty-eight points a year full-time or twenty-four points to thirty-two a year part-time. Most studies must be taken on-campus but a few may be available by distance education.
A
candidate for the double degree must fulfil the following requirements to
receive the awards of Bachelor of Arts (Psychology and Humanities)/Bachelor of
Education:
(a) complete a total of 210 but not more than 216 points;
(b) complete an arts major sequence (fifty-two points) offered by the
School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the prescribed major sequence in
psychology (fifty-two points);
(c) complete a major sequence in education studies (fifty-two points) and
a major sequence in teaching and curriculum studies (fifty-two points) offered
by the Faculty of Education (Gippsland);

The arts major sequences may be chosen from history-politics, Indonesian, sociology, mass communications or writing (details are provided under the discipline headings).
The course of study is normally a minimum of four years full-time or eight years part-time and normally cannot extend beyond tenyears.
