Students with previously completed or partially completed tertiary studies should apply to the School of Humanities and Social Sciences for credits and exemptions. The onus is on the student to provide course records and details of course content and duration (including extracts from relevant handbooks). Students in this category will be required to complete a course plan prior to commencement of study. Students may be granted up to a maximum of ninety-six points of credits or exemptions. As a general rule, specific credits will not be granted for studies completed more than ten years prior to the date of enrolment in the current course.
Candidates who have successfully completed approved tertiary studies (either at Monash University Gippsland campus or elsewhere) may receive credit in respect of equivalent studies at the university. It is the responsibility of applicants to supply full details of the content of subjects for which credit is sought, together with official verification that these subjects have been successfully completed. As a general rule, specific credits will not be granted for studies completed more than ten years prior to enrolment in the current course. Students are advised to seek information from the administrative officers.
Students
with previously completed, or partially completed, tertiary studies may be
entitled to apply for up to forty-eight points of specified credits or up to a
maximum of thirty-six points of unspecified exemptions. In total there will be
no more than forty-eight points of credits or exemptions.
Appropriate credits or exemptions may be available for other university
courses. Students who undertake studies in other tertiary institutions are also
eligible for enrolment in the Koorie studies course. Cross-accreditation can be
arranged with the approval of both institutions.
