Study abroad and exchange programs

The Monash Abroad Office of Monash International, based at the Caulfield campus, provides services to students who wish to complete a semester or a year of their degree at an overseas institution. The opportunity of going on exchange is available to all Monash local and international students (AUSAID students are excluded), who have completed two or more semesters of a study in any faculty (except medicine). Students can enrol in intensive language programs or subjects relevant to their major or minor for a period of one or two semesters. At present, students going abroad are required to maintain a full-time load for their first or second semester enrolment, however, if undertaking a subject(s) over the summer or winter semester, the enrolment can be part time.
Monash University and the Faculty of Arts have exchange agreements with many overseas universities. If a student attends a university where an exchange agreement is in place no fees are charged at the host institution. The student maintains his/her enrolment at Monash and pays HECS/full-fees as appropriate. Where an exchange agreement does not exist, the student will pay a tuition fee at the host institution.
