Ecology and evolutionary biology
Facilities are available for graduate candidature in the Department of
Ecology and Evolutionary Biology leading to the degrees of MSc and PhD. The
degrees are awarded for the successful completion of a supervised research
program, though some coursework may be prescribed to meet the needs of
individual students.
The department maintains electron microscopes, analytical equipment,
constant-temperature rooms, experimental areas and a field station. Research
may be undertaken in cell structure, cell and organism physiology, reproductive
biology, ecology and plant-animal interactions. A brochure providing more
detailed information is available from the head of the department.
