Advanced experimental psychology I

12 points * Four 1-hour lectures and one 6-hour laboratory per week * First semester * Clayton * Prerequisites: PSY2011 and PSY2022

The aim of this subject is to provide advanced training in a broad range of areas of experimental psychology both for students who wish to obtain an accredited major in psychology and proceed to honours and graduate study and for students wishing to study the subject at this level for other reasons. The subject comprises a core unit on statistics and experimental design together with optional units. The optional units comprise circadian rhythms; human ethology; human factors psychology; a unit to be announced. In addition to the core lecture series, students will be required to complete two optional units as lecture-plus-laboratory units and one optional unit as a lecture-only unit.
