First/Second semester * Clayton * Prerequisites: MSC3011 and MSC3022
Students who have performed satisfactorily in the prerequisite subjects may pursue advanced studies leading to the degree Bachelor of Science with honours. Lecture courses are selected from fourth-year science and materials engineering subjects; their combined weighting will be equivalent to six physics fourth-year units. Selection of units will be in conjunction and with the approval of the coordinator. Advanced materials synthesis will normally be compulsory. Students undertake an original research project, the choice of which is made in consultation with the coordinator and a project supervisor.
