Mathematical statistics I
4 points * First semester * Clayton * Prerequisites: MAT1022 or alternatively MAT1062 and MAT1011 (a credit grade or higher in MAT1051 is an acceptable alternative to a pass in MAT1011)
Revision of basic probability introduction to random variables and their distributions, the basic distributions of mathematical statistics. Moments and moment-generating functions, distributions of functions of random variables, introduction to bivariate theory and joint distributions, covariance and correlation.
Assessment
Examinations (1.5 hours): 90% * Tests and/or assignments: 10%
