This subject takes a practical and applied approach to some selected climatological and environmental problems. Topics covered may include techniques in radiation climatology, air pollution meteorology and climatology, agricultural climatology, alpine meteorology and climatology and hydrometeorology. Associated practical and fieldwork may include experience with radiation and micro-meteorological and instrumentation; the measurement, analysis and modelling of air pollution; the assessment of climate interactions with alpine snowpack; and the determination of the energy-balance/thermal response of rivers undergoing modification by man.
