Classical `wet way' analysis and an introduction to modern instrumental methods for cation and anion analysis are included, such as ion chromatography, flow injection analysis (automation) and polarography. Topics covered are gravimetric, volumetric, aqueous and non-aqueous acid-base, complexiometric, oxidation-reduction, solvent extraction techniques and an introduction to the local industry and water management.

Progressive assessment: 30% * Final examination: 45% * Laboratory work: 20% * Fieldwork: 5%
