The subject presents the student with advanced aspects of biochemistry and molecular biology. This is achieved through lectures, laboratory training and seminars. The student is introduced to scientific research through participation in a minor research project under supervision. Emphasis throughout the year is placed on training the student to obtain information, either from the literature or by direct observation, and to evaluate critically the significance of this information.

Laboratory research: 42.5% * Assessment of data exercises: 30% * Oral presentations: 17.5% * Literature review: 10%
