The syllabus starts by considering the concept of abnormality outside the frame of reference of psychopathology. This is followed by an examination of the legal and professional responsibilities of psychologists. Among the issues then discussed are the aetiology, classification, models and modes of treatment of psychopathology. The acts of parliament which govern the operation of our social behaviour are considered. The subject concludes with a critical evaluation of alternative views.
