Community mental health studies

2 hours per week * Second semester * Peninsula * Prerequisites: NSG5501

This subject introduces theoretical foundations and the broad range of skills associated with community mental health. Subject content includes crisis theory and crisis intervention; mental status examination; interviewing and interpersonal skills; introduction to psychiatric disorders; advanced counselling and group skills; introduction to psychological therapies; and mental health support networks.

Assessment

Assignment: 70% * Seminar presentation: 30%
