Crosscultural health studies

This subject introduces crosscultural issues in primary health care nursing. Content includes introduction to models and theories of culture; anthropology in nursing, transcultural nursing theory; two hundred years of immigration and multiculturalism in Australia; cultural groups, socio-economic status and health status; cultural notions of body and mind, health and disease; language and crosscultural communication in health care; and culture of health services and ethnic health policies.

Assessment

Assignment: 50% * Practical work: 50%
