Mental health issues in palliative care

This subject introduces the student to a range of issues relating to the mental health of patients receiving palliative care and the needs of their families and significant others. Topics include coping strategies, grieving processes, brain pathology and terminal illness, mood disorders, recognising and intervening in self-harming behaviour, psychoactive drugs in palliative care and mental health care strategies.
