Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is a relatively new disease process in palliative care and is a growing care area. It causes specific problems and raises special issues for nurses caring for the patients and families involved. This subject aims to raise awareness of the unique issues and needs of people with AIDS in palliative care. Topics will include the disease process of AIDS, the lived experience of AIDS and infection control.
