Interpersonal relations in palliative care

Hospice and palliative care requires that the nurse recognises the patient's emotional as well as physical needs. This subject aims to foster and develop the students' listening skills and their ability to utilise therapeutic communication skills in ways that will empower clients and caregivers. Topics include intentional interviewing skills, attitudes and empathy, and integrating positive skills toward planned change.

Assessment

Assignment: 60% * Client interview: 40%
