Ethical and legal issues in hospice and palliative care

This subject explores ethical and legal issues relevant to palliative care practice, allowing students to explore and develop a framework in which they can judge their standards of practice. Content includes Australian law, negligence, consent and assault, documentation and privacy, the Crimes Act and euthanasia and the medical treatment act and guardianship; introduction to ethics and bioethics, moral decision making, moral principles and issues in palliative care, issues in life and death, the ethic of caring.
