Introductory perspectives on palliative care and the hospice concept

This subject enables students to develop their understanding of the philosophical, political and social underpinnings in the role of the palliative care nurse. Topics include the philosophical and historical trends of hospice in Australia, politics in palliative care, the cultural and spiritual nature of the experience of dying, and collaboration and communication in multidisciplinary teams.

Assignment: 70% * Report: 30%
