A framework for community mental health nursing practice, evolutionary perspectives; philosophy, values, attitudes, and ethics of community mental health nursing; the nature of community mental health nursing; a conceptual framework for community mental health nursing practice; ethical and legal considerations; roles and functions of community mental health nurses; the community process, community analysis; epidemiology; a multidisciplinary approach to coordinating health care services; community health planning; political activism; health promotion in the community; evaluation and mobilisation of community resources; quality assurance; ethical and legal considerations, the home visit; interpersonal relationships in community, family crisis intervention; networking and the referral process.

Assessment

Field work: 50% * Assignment (2000 words): 50%
