Transcultural psychiatric nursing

4 hours per week * First semester * Peninsula

The subject will introduce students to crosscultural issues in psychiatric nursing and encourage students to explore cross-cultural issues embracing the age continuum and all health care contexts. Topics will include multiculturalism in Australia, politics of multiculturalism in Australian society, multicultural social systems, the multidisciplinary team, and the role of the nurse in transcultural psychiatry.

Assessment

Field work: 50% * Assignment (2000 words): 50%
