Sociology of health III

An overview of the major theoretical approaches in sociology used in the understanding and explanation of the provision of health care with a particular focus on the work of nursing as an occupation and as a profession within the broader structure of health care and ultimately as an aspect of Australian society in general. The subject is taught by lectures and tutorials.

Assessment

Minor essay (1000 words): 50% * Tutorial participation and presentation: 20% * Examination (40 minutes): 30%
