Human responses to health/health breakdown I: physiological and psychosocial nursing phenomena - the nature of health

8 points * 2 hours per week theory * 3 hours per week laboratory skills, plus 160 clinical hours * First semester * Peninsula

The subject introduces concepts of health; assessment of health needs of the individual, family and community; application of a primary health care framework to community health practice; health promotion; skills in assessment and care initiation in maintaining and supporting activities of daily living. The subject is taught by lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, laboratory and clinical practice.

Assessment

Examination (2 hours): 50% * Practical skills assessment: 20% * Clinical fieldwork throughout semester: 30% * 80% attendance at lectures and practical classes and 100% attendance at clinical practice is mandatory
