Social and preventive medicine
This program covers a selection of public health topics and involves six half-day seminars. Topics covered are of direct clinical relevance and students are expected to read specific reference material prior to each session and to participate in discussions throughout. Topics covered include environmental health (with a focus on the issue of pesticide use), transcultural issues, clinical epidemiology, health economics, drug use and abuse and public health law. Specific issues raised include workers compensation, notifiable diseases and health issues in relation to refugees and migrants.
