Infectious disease epidemiology

Dr T Ruff

3.5 hours per week over 7 weeks * Second semester

Several major topics on infectious disease will be treated from an epidemiological perspective. Areas include the surveillance of infectious disease; sexually transmitted disease; infectious diseases in developing countries; parasites; vectors; exotic diseases; viral diseases; prevention and control of infectious disease; antibiotic policy; mathematical modelling of infectious disease and of vaccine use in control.
