Epidemiological research methods

Students will receive instruction in determining the optimal research design for a study; the protocol to be followed; the sampling techniques and the writing of a grant proposal. Practical aspects of carrying out a study, the use of appropriate statistical methods and analysis of results will be emphasised. Computing skills will form a major component of this subject.
