Community medicine
A series of topics relevant to the practice of medicine in the community setting will be covered. In four groups students will rotate through four separate units. Each unit will take place over five half-day sessions with consulting skills being integrated into each one. The four units comprise (1) ethical issues in clinical practice; (2) infections in the community; (3) multidisciplinary health care; (4) drugs and society. Case-based teaching with role playing and video feedback will be used. In addition there will be open forums with an expert panel, special interest lecture days and GP visits.
