This subject provides a comprehensive and critical examination of the laws which affect public access to information about the Federal and Victorian governments (including public authorities and local government). Particular matters dealt with in the subject include the duty to provide reasons for decisions, public access to hearings and meetings, freedom of information, breach of confidence, public interest immunity, Crown copyright, statutory secrecy provisions and privacy.
