This subject examines the regulation of takeovers, focusing in particular on the requirements of chapter six of the Corporations Law. These requirements, and the regulatory structure providing for their enforcement, will be assessed with reference to the aims and purposes of takeovers regulation. Where appropriate, reference will be made to contrasting approaches adopted in other jurisdictions (notably the United Kingdom and the United States).
