Occupational health and safety 700

One 2-hour seminar weekly over 13 weeks

This subject studies the Victorian and federal laws on occupational health and safety. Topics examined include chemicals in the workplace and their control; repetitive strain injuries; the powers of safety representatives; the right to stop work; and responsibilities of employers and employees in occupational health and safety.

Assessment

Written research assignment (5000 words): 50% * Class participation: 10% * Examination (final or take-home): 40%
