This subject examines selected public and private issues of current concern to the air transport industry within Australia and overseas. The matters chosen for discussion may vary from year to year depending upon the particular concerns of the industry. Initially the subject will address a series of issues chosen from the following topics: Australian domestic air transport deregulation and the maintenance of competition and air safety; deregulation in international air transport and the future roles of bilateralism and multilateralism; airline computer reservation systems and their trade practices implications; refused boarding issues of regulation and compensation; travel agent industry structures, licensing and liability; aircraft sales and financing; aviation insurance law issues and the issue of reforming passenger liability limitations in domestic and international carriage by air.
