The subject provides an analysis of the regulation of the securities and futures industries and the regulation of takeovers. The topics covered will include an outline of the securities and futures markets in Australia; the nature of securities; the regulation of the stock exchange, brokers and other dealers; proscribed market practices; regulation of offerings of securities; aims and objectives of takeover legislation; the regulation of takeovers.

Assessment

Research assignment: 30% * Examination (2 hours plus 30 minutes for noting and reading): 70% * or examination (3 hours plus 30 minutes for noting and reading): 100%
