This subject will provide a general outline of civil law and concepts which are based upon the civil law. Special attention will be paid to the historical origins of the system, legal education and legal profession, government institutions, especially the organisation of courts, and civil law methodology and style. Comparison will be made between the common law of Australia and the civil law systems of Italy, France and Germany.
