This subject is a general study of the creation, enforcement, transfer, mortgage and termination of proprietary interests in land, chattels and intangibles, including title registration systems and principles of limitation of action. LAW3400 also provides an essential background for later subjects involving property and commercial law.

Assessment

Written tutorial assessment (1000 words): 10% * Oral tutorial assessment: 5% * Class test (50 minutes): 15% * Open-book terminal examination (3.5 hours): 70% * A practical placement program is open to a limited number of students. For these students, the terminal examination is marked out of 60%
