The object of this subject is to give students an understanding of the basic principles of the law of contract in Australia and to provide a basis for critical evaluation of that law from a variety of perspectives. The student will also be given some experience in handling problems of contract law, including drafting. The subject comprises a detailed study of the following aspects of contract law: formation, terms, privity, modes of discharge, remedies and vitiating factors.

Assessment

Class test (50 minutes): 15% * Second test: 15% * Terminal examination (3.5 hours): 70%
