International students

The International Office at Monash can provide advice and assistance with matters such as visa renewal, health cover, accommodation, enrolment and finance. An English Language Teaching Centre has been established on the Clayton campus to provide intensive English language courses (ELICOS) for international students. Other courses are available to students from all campuses prior to enrolment.

Jill Anderson, lecturer in language and learning, is available at the Clayton campus to assist undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students in report writing, thesis writing, listening and lecture note-taking and study planning.

At Caulfield campus, Language and Learning Services staff also assist engineering students. Both courses and individual consultations are available on such topics as written expression, report writing, oral presentations, pronunciation, examination strategies. There is also a self-access centre where students may borrow from a range of print and audio materials. The head of Language and Learning Services, Rosemary Clerehan, may be contacted for information.
