Enrolment and re-enrolment

Students should be familiar with enrolment information contained in the Student information handbook. Details are available concerning enrolment, pre-enrolment, re-enrolment, change-of-course, examination and other procedures. Set out below is a summary of some of the more important procedures.

At Clayton and Gippsland, students who are offered a place in a course will, after receiving their enrolment forms, report to the faculty or school enrolment area for completion of enrolment procedures. Course information will be available at this time so that students understand the course structure and enrol accordingly.

At Caulfield, students who are offered a place in a course will collect part A of their enrolment forms at the enrolment/re-enrolment venue together with details of subjects which may be undertaken. The enrolment form should then be completed including the subjects they wish to enrol in, taking into account prerequisites. Students then report to the course advisers for course advice and a signature. Instructions as to the procedures to be undertaken to complete the enrolment should then be followed.

Pre-enrolling students (Clayton and Caulfield schools only) are those who have attended the university in a previous year and are not enrolling for the first time. Such students are sent a pre-enrolment form together with instructions in October and are required to pre-enrol in their intended program for the following year. Faculty arrangements regarding pre-enrolment have not been finalised at this stage. Students will be notified by mail at the appropriate time.
