Disability support services

Monash is committed to providing equal access to higher education for people with disabilities and long-term medical conditions. Comprehensive support services, equipment and facilities are available to enrolled students under the Monash University Disability Support (MUDS) program.

MUDS program services include early advice (pre- application), assistance with the enrolment process and orientation to Monash services, course and research materials in alternative formats (Braille, large print, audio), assistance in accessing the learning environment (note takers, scribes, sign language interpreters), alternative assessment or examination arrangements, advocacy (representation, grievance procedures), provision of specialised equipment (software, hearing loops, furniture) and personal support (attendant carers).

The MUDS program is coordinated by the Disability Liaison Office which is located in the Gallery building, Clayton campus with links to all campuses.

More detailed information on the program can be found in the `Green guide' (resource and access guide for people with disabilities) which includes a comprehensive list of more than forty services and facilities. For a copy of the guide or a confidential appointment visit the Disability Liaison Office or phone Gill Bruce, Anne Scott or Anette Rudd on 905 5704 or TTY 905 5391.
