Conventional approach to design, description of the design process, computer-aided design (CAD), parametric and variational design, engineering analysis, CAD, computer-aided engineering (CAE), integrated database management systems in CAE, optimisation and CAD, optimisation methods, geometry description, isometric projection, description of curves and surfaces, surface creation, solid modelling, construction techniques, applications of solid and surface modelling. Finite-element method and computer-aided design.

Assessment

Examinations (2 hours): 50% * Assignments and tests: 50%
