Design for manufacturing

Design for function, manufacturing, assembly, storage and transportation, the role of prototype. Economics of manufacturing equipment and processes. Cost estimation of equipment requirements, materials and labour cost, standardisations and variety reduction. Fixtures. Assessment of appropriate production.

Assessment

Examinations (3 hours): 70% * Assignments and tests: 30%
