Bonding at surfaces: the thermodynamic properties of surfaces; the thermodynamic properties of interfaces; engineering with adhesive joints; the mechanical properties of interfaces; contact of solid surfaces. Corrosion of surfaces: the chemical properties of interfaces; the electrochemical properties of interfaces; the electrokinetic properties of interfaces; localised corrosion. Protection of surfaces: techniques of protection; organic surface treatments; inorganic surface treatments.
