Thermodynamics 1

Review of the first law of thermodynamics and its application to systems and control volumes. The second law of thermodynamics and its consequences, entropy, T-s and h-s property diagrams. Applications of thermodynamics to machinery. Reciprocating compressors, and pumps. IC engine testing and instrumentation.

Assessment

Examinations (3 hours): 60% * Practical/Assignments: 40%
