Experimental modal analysis

Modal analysis based on experimentally derived frequency response functions. Topics include basic modal theory, two and multidegree of freedom systems, characteristic equations, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, principal coordinates and normal coordinates, classical and non-classical damping, and hysteretic damping. Laboratory work is an integral part of the course.
