This subject is concerned primarily with the application of the fundamentals of heat and mass transfer and energy conversion to the field of psychrometrics. Application of the principles of heat and mass transfer to the design of components of an air conditioning system such as cooling coils, condensers and cooling towers. Applications of energy conversion in relation to refrigeration systems with particular emphasis on those systems suitable in air conditioning. The principles of energy conversion are then considered in analysing different air conditioning systems.
