Major conventional systems of power generation and their optional equipment, including steam turbines, gas turbines and both spark ignition and compression ignition internal combustion engines; combustion; reversed cycles for heat pumps and refrigeration; review of solar based energy conversion methods; introduction to direct energy conversion; energy storage.

Assessment

Examinations (2 hours): 70% * Laboratory work: 15% * Tests: 15%
