Engineering practices: design process

4 points * 22 lecture hours, 22 tutorial and laboratory hours * First semester * Clayton * Prerequisites: PHS1810 and any four level-1 engineering subjects * Corequisites: MEC2410 and MEC2440

Design process: philosophy of design; problem recognition and formulation; synthesis of solution concepts; decision, preliminary design, detailed design. Design techniques: methods for creation of solution concepts; mathematical analogues; engineering drawing; modelling.
