Statistical methods

Introductory probability and distribution theory; special distributions and some of their applications in engineering, science and technology. Estimation of parameters and tests of hypotheses, and some of their applications. Introduction to the method of least squares and its application in regression, analysis of variance and correlation. Introduction to statistical packages and exploratory data analysis.

Assessment

Examinations (1.5 hours): 90% * Other assessment: 10%
