Statistical modelling; multiple linear regression, parameters estimation, model assessment, use of residual analysis. Use of computer packages. The Markov chain models. Multivariate data analysis. Design of experiments; engineering experimentation. Analysis of variance, fixed-effect and random effect models. Randomised blocks, latin squares, incomplete block design. Factorial design. Confounding.
